MEG LOUISE
Sensual Movement Instructor
Meg Louise brings her lifelong experience with and love of dance and music to every class she leads. Both a competitive figure skater with dance training and a pianist from an early age, her expertise lies in the movement and music connection and how that connection facilitates the expression and processing of emotions. She has been an ACE Certified Fitness Instructor at Columbia University for more than 20 years, she holds a certification from Power Pilates, and she taught pole dancing and sensual movement at S Factor NY from 2009 – 2021. As part of her musical training, she has studied with some of the finest musicians in the world including faculty from Juilliard, Manhattan School of Music, the Aspen Music Festival, Interlochen Center for the Arts and the Conservatoire Américain de Fontainebleau and she was a piano accompanist for the New York School of Ballet and Ballet West.
Known to many as ‘the music whisperer,’ Meg has a keen ability to select music that will bring out expression of specific embodied emotions and concepts through movement. She has a reputation for picking just the right song for a dancer’s mood, for knowing what musical elements will bring a student’s body blissfully alive, and for being able to identify much about a person’s internal temperament from their preferred music for dance. She has developed a copyrighted curriculum Music for Dancers that teaches dancers to hear more in the music so that they can feel more from the music. Along with a carefully crafted playlist, she creates each of her classes with a particular theme or focus. Her goal is to inspire and to encourage exploration while providing a great workout and to give each student exactly the experience they need/desire on any given day.
