Virtual Sensual Movement

The class includes a Pilates-based sensual warm-up, original music/flow dance exercises, and improvisational dancing. All levels welcome. Online Turn Up Thursday Dance Cardio + Active Stretch

Let’s turn it up and express yourself(!) with some high energy cardio followed by an active stretch, providing a full body experience. The first portion of class provides simple dance moves, fitness, and calisthenics combined to lift the heart rate, condition, and tone. The final portion of class is an active stretch for both the bigger and smaller muscle groups, releasing tension and creating more space throughout the body. Equipment needed: Supportive sneakers for cardio portion and water! Are you a long-time practitioner of embodied movement? This class is for you! Who it’s for: Class is open to Intermediate to Advanced level students – prior experience with an embodied movement practice is a prerequisite to join this class. If you are not sure if this is you, please contact the studio directly to inquire. What to expect: This 90-minute virtual class combines a sensual movement warmup with an opportunity to be witnessed in movement by the class. The instructor will provide students with themes and assignments that expand their awareness of the connection between mind and body. Assignments may include movement flows, musical or clothing suggestions. Students will have an opportunity to choose a song for their individual dance and receive affirming feedback from the instructor and class participants. All assignments are optional. Class material will be tailored to participants’ experience levels and needs. There is no pole dance instruction in this class. What to wear: Wear loose comfortable clothing that doesn’t restrict your movement – yoga pants and a tank top are fine. Sensual attire is welcome. This 60 minute class is for pole beginners who would like to learn and practice the basics. We’ll start with a warm up, preparing our bodies and our minds for growth and exploration before we break down the mechanics of some foundational pole moves. Students will have an opportunity to expand their pole movement vocabulary while allowing space for creativity as we gradually progress each skill. For safety and for students to be able to grip and climb the pole, please refrain from wearing any lotions or oils on the skin. Skin and hands should be dry and bare. Proper attire: booty shorts, crop tops, sports bras, bodysuits/leotards (legs should be bare), bare feet are preferable, socks okay. Cancellation Policies: Drop in (non members of PoleArity Palace) who do not show up for a class forfeit the price of the class. – Drop in customers who late cancel (within 12 hours of the beginning of class) will be charged a $17 late fee. – MEMBERS of PoleArity Palace who are no show will be charged a $27 fee, and in the case of a late cancellation will be charged a $17 fee

Who it’s for: Class is open to any level student including total beginners, intermediate and advanced students. What to expect: This 90-minute virtual class combines a sensual movement warmup with an opportunity to be witnessed in movement by the class. The instructor will provide students with themes and assignments that expand their awareness of the connection between mind and body.
